Latest BBC Online picture on the Burma uprising with the saffron soldiers for peace.SCAN/STOP: Hi all, I received an email today from a listener who is a Burmese national working in KL.
He wrote: "I always follow ur articles on Lifestyle column n notice a few articles u cover on VOM broadcast. I used to listen (to) Myanmar language broadcast from RTM-VOM on 6100 K.Hz at 2230-2330.
"But unfortunately I couldn't get the broadcast anymore on that metre band. I am worried (about ) the present happening(s) in Myanmar.
"I tried other languages broadcast on VOM, I couldn't get THAI, MANDARIN, INDONESIA also. Only one relay station is working and that is 15295KHz. The rest are all dead.
"I want to listen current uprising NEWS from VOM unit Myanmar.

Well friend, I got in touch with the VOM and was told that they are experiencing transmitter problems with their Myanmar broadcast station. The spokesperson suggested that your best chance at the moment is to get into the Voice Of Malaysia's homepage and listen to the broadcast you want online.
Streaming of VOM can be down here: http://www.rtm.net.my/ Look out for the flip down chart and then click on it. Good luck!
In the meantime, I hope to get a full explanation of the transmitter problems and the alternatives for listeners to tune in to soon. I will publish it in Air Raves and also in this blog.
